The story behind the artwork:
This carving was inspired by a perfect day spent exploring the wildlife of Jackson Hole on New Year's Eve, 2020. During one morning drive along Gros Ventre Road, we spotted 12 moose—the most we've ever seen in one day. From bulls lying peacefully to cows with their calves and small herds grazing together, moose seemed to appear around every bend. Paired with sightings of bighorn sheep and elk near the National Elk Refuge, it was a fitting farewell to 2020 and a day that fueled my imagination to create this piece and others like it.
