This piece was inspired by the unforgettable experience of observing bald eagles during the winter in Jackson Hole. While eagles are often seen near open water, hunting for fish and waterfowl, the frozen winters offer a different glimpse into their lives. It’s not unusual to see them scavenging for food, perched majestically on posts, or feeding on elk carcasses, as we did this past winter. Witnessing their commanding presence in such a raw and rugged setting is always a special treat, and this artwork captures the strength and majesty of these incredible birds.
